Among the services we can offer to our customers, there are:
We test the multiplication with the aim of verifying if it is compatible with our climate conditions, of observing its characteristics and of studying the best applicable agronomic practices.
For some species, as hybrid cabbages, the nursery sowing dates are of the utmost importance. A delay of 3 or 4 days from the ideal sowing date is enough to cause problems with the bolting-on-seed. On the contrary, if the sowing is done too early, the plants run the risk of growing too much: they may waste too much energy to make the leaves sprouting and they may arrive too weakened to the bolting-on-seed stage. Bolting trials are aimed at finding the most suitable sowing date and they are offered free-of-charge.
For hybrid varieties, the synchronization of the flowering time between the female and male lines is very important, in order to obtain a good fecundation. For those varieties with a marked difference in the the lines' flowering time, we test our agronomic techniques, such as trimming (which is done in different ways), to try and reduce the time gap. The nicking trial service too is offered free-of-charge.
All fields are checked and examined by our agronomic staff in order to remove any off-type or uneven, degenerate plant.
On request, we can run grow-out tests to verify the variety purity of the seeds we produce.
This is another of the many services we offer to our customers. |
